An affirmation is ’something declared to be true; a positive statement or judgment’. They are a powerful way of helping you to become a more positive person. If you suffer with low self-esteem and have negative feelings flowing through your mind, then affirmations are for you. Who we are and what we believe have been developed within us from a young age – some maybe good things and some may not. Using positive affirmations helps to erase the negative thoughts from our subconscious mind. Here are some examples:
- I am my own unique self – special, creative and wonderful
- When I believe in myself, so do others
- I am happy and healthy
- I am successful in whatever I do
They can be as intricate or as simple as you wish and about whatever it is you are trying to achieve in your life that might be a bit out of balance.
TIP: Try writing them down and sticking them on post-it-notes around your homes and reading them every single day, 10 times a day! Have fun with it!
